Routine work, done on a schedule, with you in charge

Sets itself up by talking with you

Setup is a conversation with you, not a settings screen to fill in.

Finds work you repeat

It proposes workflows for things like inbox triage, new leads, CRM notes, invoices and meeting follow-ups.

Runs on a schedule

It runs your workflows on a schedule, so you don't start each run yourself.

Reports where you are

Results arrive in your chat, Telegram, email or Slack.

Asks first

Money, legal matters, messages to customers and deletes always wait for your yes.

Explains every run

The taskfollow why command explains what each run did.

#why_local.md

Why it runs on your own computer

Your data stays with you

TaskFollow runs on your own computer. Nobody else hosts it or sees your data.

Your own assistant and subscription

It works through the assistant you already use, on the plan you already pay for.

Approvals the assistant can't bypass

Telling an assistant "always ask me first" is a request, not a guarantee. TaskFollow's approvals happen in your own terminal or channel, and the assistant cannot approve for itself.

#install.md

Install it by asking your assistant

1. With Claude Code, open a terminal, make a folder and start Claude Code in it:

mkdir taskfollow cd taskfollow claude

2. Paste this prompt and press Return:

Please install TaskFollow for me. Run `npx --yes taskfollow instructions` and follow exactly what it prints. I am not technical: explain each step in plain words and tell me exactly what to click or type.

TaskFollow then sets itself up by talking with you.

What you need

  • A Mac, or Windows 11 (Preview)
  • Node 22 or newer
  • An assistant that can run commands on your computer (Claude Code is the most tested)

#connect_skills_wiki.md

Connect your Skills Wiki

During setup TaskFollow asks whether you want to connect hosted Skills Wiki. Say yes, paste your MCP URL, and it stores your key in your computer's keychain, never in the chat.

Hosted Skills Wiki is a paid service with an account. It gives TaskFollow more skills and ready-made combos. See plans →
